The Swim Down
A huge thanks to all swimmers, all the Tangalooma team, supporters and sponsors for helping make the 2009 Swim4kids event the biggest success so far. Also like to especially thank Jeff for all his time and for getting us there and back in one piece.
After a few minor adjustments early friday morning we left the Breakfast Creek Hotel and up the Brisbane River in calm conditions only to be greeted by 20-25 knot northerlies which made swimming in the cage and being on the boat a bit rough and tumble. With a few green faces we plodded along and reached the just after dark . The landing on the beach from the tender was an adventure in itself with 4 foot waves swamping us a we tried to jump off.(nice work Captain Jack)
The first ever Swim4kids beach party on friday night was a great success with great food and entertainment, thanks Clare:-)
After another early start on Saturday to make a few running repairs to the cage(great work steady)and a special guest appearance from "the Hoff" we were on our way back to the Brekky Creek.
After Friday's rough crossing Saturday was a millpond. With blue skies and little wind we cruised the bay and into the Brisbane River with no fuss and arrived at the Breakfast Creek Hotel just after 6pm for the after party and the run down of the 2 days.
Once again thanks to everyone involved and we look forward to the next Swim4kids :-)

Morgan's Story
Morgan was initially admitted to the Royal Children's Hospital with kidney problems with tests revealing his kidneys had in fact failed.
He received the results from a biopsy and was diagnosed with Leukaemia on Christmas Eve 2007.
He commenced his first dose of chemotherapy on Boxing day.
The family has been attending the hospital for almost 10 months
Morgan ' s mum said that it all happened very quickly, and that she realised that it can happen to anyone.
All of the families they have met are from QLD and Northern New South Wales and have been a tremendous support to each other.
The family says the children have made friends for life.
Morgan lost his beautiful blonde curly ringlets due to the treatment.
His family describe how the enormity of dealing with the diagnosis and treatment simply because it 's such a huge and unexpected shock.
They are so grateful that they still have their beautiful little boy.
